Working with an agency on a financial-services project, I developed a motion system for digital interfaces and physical cards. Repeated vertical forms and overlapping tones create waves of light and depth.
A study in motion
From pattern to motion

Built to repeat
One animated pillar, repeated with a five-frame delay between neighbours, creates the wave. During the project, the client’s development team explored rendering it directly in the app and browser.
This browser prototype puts that idea into practice using shapes and timing data. Colours and composition can change without exporting another video. Try a colour scheme below.

Beyond the screen
A frame from the animation becomes a surface for a physical card, connecting the moving digital identity to something held in the hand.
